Ek Tha Tiger Didn't Get Release Approval from CBFC Islamabad


Salman Khan starter Indian Movie Ek Tha Tiger has ultimately faced a ban in Pakistan, after Central Board of Films Censor, Islamabad watched the movie today and didn’t approve it for release in Pakistani Cinemas.

A month ago, Pakistan Electronic Media Regulatory Authority (PEMRA) had ordered Cable operators not to run the promos of movies, as the movie shows the country’s spy agency ISI in bad light. The movie Ek
Tha Tiger was expected to release with 35 prints in Pakistan on Eid. According to film business analysts, the movie had potential of doing a business of Rs 100 million in Pakistan.

A couple of months ago, another Indian movie “Agent Vinod” with mention of ISI, had been banned in Pakistan, with consensus of Pakistani film distributors and Cinema Owners.

Talking about the ban on Ek Tha Tiger, A Pakistani filmmaker told an Indian daily:
“Any Indian film with mention of ISI will not get a release in Pakistan so filmmakers need to keep that in mind if they want to help that territory grow.”
