Rahat Fateh Ali Khan banned to enter in India for life
Rahat Fateh Ali Khan, a legendary star singer from Pakistan, who had devoted his vocals to some of the most popular Indian movies has been banned for life from entering India. The possible reason behind the ban is the pressure of Indian local singers on the government to keep Rahat away from India, who is extremely popular in Bollywood.
The pressure on government is not only exerted on individual basis, as the film singer association is also demanding the government to ban Pakistani singers just because of professional jealousy and the popularity the Pakistani singers in India.
Rahat Fateh Ali Khan has been recording his songs for India projects in local studios since his involvement in a money laundering case, which happened on 13 February 2011, as he was on his way back to Pakistan after attending concerts and award functions in India, he was detained at the airport and allegedly more than 140,000 US dollars was seized by authorities.
He was released after frantic efforts by officials including Pakistan foreign secretary Salman Bashir and Indian High Commissioner in Islamabad Sharat Sabharwal.
Local media reported on Tuesday that Indian Embassy in Islamabad is issuing visas to Pakistani singers like Atif Aslam, Ali Zafar and Ali Azmat etc.
